As 2024 brings a wave of mobile price hikes many phone users will no doubt be on the lookout to cut their monthly spending, whether it's by finding a cheap data deal or making the most of providers often little-known perks.
And consumer expert Martin Lewis, from the team at Money Saving Expert, has shared a recent update for all O2 phone customers that will help cut your Amazon Prime bill. Any pay-monthly customers, whether you pay for a SIM or combine phone and data contract can cut £2 a month of their Prime membership - slashing the price to a cheaper £6.99 a month.
Across a full year it means you'll pay £83.88 instead of the usual £95 rate for the speedy Prime delivery service and of course the ability to tap into its host of music and Prime Video perks - ideal if you've had The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Napoleon, or Saltburn on your list to watch.
A little look on O2 shows that you can simply add Prime to any existing O2 bill to get the discount or activate it when you take out any new plan - making its current £108 saving on the iPhone 15, a huge £288 on the Samsung S23 or £250 off Google's newest Pixel 8 Pro.
To find the deal, head to O2 buy a pay-monthly mobile or data plan (if you don't already have one) and once activated head to the O2 Priority app. Search 'Prime' in the app and click 'use now'. Once you've followed those steps you will receive a text message to link your Amazon account.
It's a welcome tip for helping customers cut the costs but you'll need to be a new or returning Prime member, it's not available to do if you already pay for the Amazon membership. And you have all of 2024 to make the most of it, as it's been extended from its previous New Year deadline.
If you're not an O2 customer, but have an existing plan with Vodafone, Three, EE and Sky Mobile (to name a few) we've shared all the mobile perks and freebies that are available; 'Perks from Sky Mobile, O2, EE and more to help you pick a deal'.
