A family home is on the market for a headturning £10,000 - but it's so riddled with mould that sellers have prohibited viewings.

The three-bed semi in Northfield, Birmingham, has less than a warm welcome with the hallway's walls blackened with thick mould. The bargain property comes with a serious health warning, and estate agents claim it would need an entire renovation before become inhabitable.

Grim pictures show the family home's broken furniture, grimy curtains and rotting rubbish strewn across every room. The wallpaper in the kitchen is peeling and stained and the ceiling appears to have partially caved in.

Paintings hang on the wall and piles of dirty clothes have been left on the bannister and chairs. But while whoever takes on the home can expect a major project on their hands, it's still a fraction of the price of neighbouring properties averaging at £300,000 each.

The house comes with a hallway, lounge diner, kitchen, bathroom, attic, and an overgrown but large garden. A short distance from Birmingham city centre, it's also a stone's throw from picturesque Lickey Hills Country Park and golf course.

The home is being sold by Bond Wolfe Commercial Auctions and has ten years left on a 99-year lease. The estate agent's description warns: "The auctioneers were unable to inspect the property internally and therefore the accommodation details should not be relied upon. There is extensive mould present in this property and due to the condition there will be no internal access prior to the auction sale."

But it's not all bad news, as the blurb adds: "The property has the benefits of gas fired central heating and double glazing, however it is in need of full renovation works." The house is set to be auctioned off on February 8.
