The Masked Singer UK fans think they have rumbled Piranha's identity after the character blew viewers away with their incredible singing voice.
The show returned last Saturday night, with panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan trying to work out the identity of six new characters, with guest Charlie Simpson, although Rita Ora was back for this weekend. Confirmed for the latest lineup on Saturday night were Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar and Piranha.
During the latest episode, Piranha went against Chicken Caesar, where they dropped a series of clues and left the judges speechless with their incredible performance. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were adamant that Piranha is McFly lead singer Danny Jones.
One person said: "Piranha sounds like Danny from McFly #MaskedSingerUK #maskedsinger", a different account put: "OMG. THE PIRANHA WAS DEFINITELY DANNY JONES!? I just suddenly clocked the voice 10000% like for like #MaskedSingerUK", another viewer wrote: "Danny Jones does that jump #MaskedSingerUK", another fan said: "Convinced it’s Danny Jones. The jump when he got through makes me even more convinced #MaskedSingerUK" while another added: "Piranha is 100% Danny Jones. What a voice!! #MaskedSingerUK."
Also taking part are Cricket, Weather, Marypole, Bigfoot, Dippy Egg and Rat, who featured on the first episode of the series, where Weather was revealed as Dionne Warwick. Music icon Dionne left the panel starstruck as she unveiled herself as the star under the costume. She then shared her joy at being asked to do the series but admitted the struggles she faced trying to disguise her voice on the show.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesMeanwhile, host Joel Dommett couldn’t wait for the show to start and previously said: "Honestly, they are the best costumes ever. If they don’t make you smile, well, get out! Air Fryer is unbelievably silly. It's so liberating to be a part of a show where first of all, people really enjoy it and also from my point of view, any idea I have, it's fair game. Even when it comes to the suits!
"I think we've definitely got some of the best vocalists we've ever had on the show and we've had some really incredible ones in the past. The show goes through an interesting meandering of, we are all here for all the new characters, but then maybe the better singers start to get through in the last rounds, usually the final. Let's be honest, it’s usually really incredible singers left at that point. This year I really do feel like we've got some of the best we've ever had."
