The couple met in the 1990s after they worked together on the set of the 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer and their friendship turned to romance a few years later. Both stars were well known for their films and TV work in the 90s and early noughties, including Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, All My children and The Grudge for Sarah and She's All That, 24 and Star Wars Rebels for Freddie.
The couple then went on to tie the knot in 2002, welcoming their first child in 2009 and their second in 2012. They currently keep their children, aged 14 and 11, out of the spotlight.
Their 21-year marriage has stood the test of time, which Sarah puts down to being present with each other. Sarah previously told People magazine: "Take the 10 minutes – put the phone down. Have a cup of coffee together. Walk the dog at the end of the night. Read a story with your kids. Make the most of the time that you have. We are all pulled in so many directions, so make sure that, whichever one you are focusing on, you're present."
