Netflix fans have said they can’t stop watching a gripping new series that has “so many twists” it has them “hooked”. Audiences around the country have kicked off the new year with Fool Me Once, the latest TV adaptation from master mystery writer Harlan Coben.
The pulse-pounding series is fronted by Brassic star Michelle Keegan alongside The Hobbit actor Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley and is adapted from Coben’s 2016 novel of the same name. It follows former soldier Maya Stern (Keegan) as she tries to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe (Armitage).
When Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see her husband, who she thought was dead. Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar) leads the homicide investigation into Joe’s death while grappling with secrets of his own.

Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew are trying to find the truth about their mother's murder, several months earlier. The eight-part series marks the eighth on-screen adaptation of Coben’s work and follows 2022’s Stay Close, which spent four weeks in Netflix’s global top 10.

Much like previous Coben adaptations, Fool Me Once comprises plenty of unpredictable twists and turns that has kept fans gripped. Many have taken to social media to praise the series, with some saying it could be the “best” Coben adaptation yet.
