We’re all making resolutions for the upcoming year, and the forecast is hopefully bright for The Masked Singer’s Weather, even if legendary singer Dionne Warwick was voted out first.
The 83-year-old vows there is absolutely no sign of retirement, and has set her sights on winning an Oscar. The rest of us might have slightly lower aspirations for 2024. “I cannot imagine a world without music. Couldn’t begin to imagine that nor do I want to,” says the star, who was correctly identified by the judges on the popular ITV show. The star adds that she wants to add to her collection of five Grammys with: “The Oscar, the Emmy and the Tony. Not necessarily in that order. Why not?”
Dionne isn’t surprised her distinctive voice saw her leave the show first, after she performed Jimmy Cliff’s 1972 hit I Can See Clearly Now. “I said, ‘I can’t disguise my voice. The minute I open my mouth, I’m gone!’ That’s been my blessing and I never want to disguise it. So, the minute I opened my mouth, everybody sussed it out," Dionne says. She was also correctly identified when she took part in the US version of the show as Mouse in 2020, and Nicole Scherzinger admitted she was “freaking out” that she was a contestant.
