A teacher was busted for allegedly sexually abusing her 13-year-old student, reportedly having sex with him at least 12 times, sending him money via CashApp and having a pregnancy scare.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Laredo Morning Times in Texas, Adriana Mariel Rullan, 27, had "sexual intercourse/sexual contact" with the student a dozen times, including at a middle school in the United Independent School District.
The warrants charged Rullan with having an improper relationship between an educator and student, which is a second-degree felony; the continuous sexual abuse of a child younger than 14, which is a first-degree felony; and the second-degree felony indecency with a child by sexual contact, the outlet reported.
She had been a teacher and a coach at Antonio Gonzalez Middle School in the eastern portion of the city that borders Mexico. She was arrested on December 20 after the allegations came to light from the family of the boy, then released the same day on bond totaling $175,000, according to Law&Crime.

Rullan had been a teacher and coach at the middle school before the incident went downWhen they came to light, the school district released a statement to KGNS. It read: "UISD has learned of the arrest of a former employee for various charges. UISD promptly followed administrative and legal protocol and collaborated with UISD PD to investigate the serious allegations made against the former employee prior to the arrest."
It continued: "The former employee was also placed on leave once UISD was made aware of the allegations. Please note that UISD cannot provide public comment regarding the details or status of ongoing investigations. Our community can rest assured that the individual is no longer employed by the District and that UISD takes swift action to investigate allegations of inappropriate conduct once received, as required by state and federal law."

The abuse happened at Antonio Gonzalez Middle School in Laredo, Texas (Google Street View)The case broke around 4.45pm local time on November 27 when an investigator responded to the middle school to look into the improper relationship. The parents of the child had allegedly become suspicious after their son suddenly had money to pay for $133 worth of items from an Academy Sports + Outdoors.
He reportedly claimed that he had received the money from "good friends" when his parents asked. His stepfather later scrolled through the boy's CashApp and found the transactions from Rullan, then found texts on the boy's phone stored under the name "Adriana" with pink hearts.
The boy ran away from home, and his stepfather called Adriana to ask who she was, at which point she reportedly admitted she was his teacher. She then requested to come over and explain herself, but she was denied, and the stepfather called the police. She had also reportedly requested to help them search for the boy.
Rullan called the boy's number during the search for him and asked to help find him, prompting his stepfather to call the police on herHe was later found with self-inflicted injuries, taken to a hospital and then admitted to a mental health facility, the affidavit states. The school's principal took screenshots of the conversations and the transactions, including parts in which the teacher claimed she might be pregnant. She had sent him pictures of herself in a bikini, showing off hickies and other "compromising sexual pictures of her," the Morning Times reported.
The following day, Rullan allegedly called the investigator and requested to meet with him, and the two met at headquarters. He was a member of the district's own police force, the United ISD Police Department. She was reportedly scared about what would happen to her and appeared nervous during the interview, biting her lip and her nails.

The sex occurred between August 18 and November 19, according to the texts, and they showed one instance in which the teacher confronted the boy for asking for another girl's Snapchat in the hallway at school, apparently on the same day they had had sex.
Rullan now faces up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 charge on the first charge alone and could face more jail time — up to life — because of the boy's age. It remains unclear when her trial will be.
