Earlier this year, a woman tragically died in north-western Turkey just moments after getting engaged, after plunging 100 feet to hear death of a cliff. Yesim Demir, 39, and Nizamettin Gursu, had just got engaged and planned to go and watch the sunset. It was initially believed that Nizamettin started walking back to the car to fetch some stuff for a picnic, when he heard a scream and turned to find his fiancee had just tumbled off the edge of the cliff.
But Nizamettin has now been arrested by police who believe there are signs that a serious argument took place at the top of the cliff. Her family filed a criminal complaint, saying that Yesim had rejected his proposal leading the pair to fight, and that the engagement ring was found in his pocket instead of on her finger.
