Love Island's Davide Sanclimenti has revealed that he and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu never really split up, despite announcing their break up in June.
At the time, Davide and Ekin-Su shocked fans when they announced they parted ways after meeting the summer before. The two were a big hit with fans when they appeared on the summer edition of Love Island - with the two going from constant bickering to getting along like a house on fire.
Their relationship remained strong after leaving the show, but things took a turn when Davide suddenly posted a break-up announcement. "Ekin-Su and I are no longer together," the Italian star penned. "I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best.
"I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time. I will continue to support Ekin in any way possible."

He said he kept in contact with her when they 'split' (Jack Dredd/REX/Shutterstock)And now, Davide claimed they never really split as they kept in touch. He told OK! : "When we 'split' we were still speaking. To be honest, we never really broke up - we were always keeping in touch."

Davide believes the break was beneficial for them, saying: "But I think looking back now, I think the break helped both of us to understand each other more. We are more understanding of each other." He added: "It was probably for the best that we broke up. We came out of a TV show, we had a lot of stress and pressure from the public - which is really hard when you're in a relationship."
He feels their relationship is stronger now, stating: "But it's helped us get to know each other better, and know what the other one wants and needs, so it's definitely better now." Davide shared that being a couple in the spotlight is tough because they get lots of comments from people.
"You will never be able to make everyone happy," he said. "So whatever you do, whatever you show, someone will always have something to say. It affected us more at the beginning, but now we are used to it and don't let it bother us." He added: "So we just appreciate the positivity, and we know that with fame comes exposure, but we don't pay attention to the negativity anymore."
Before they broke up, Davide and Ekin-Su lived together in London. Now they've got their own places. Ekin-Su is based in Essex and is based in Manchester. However, the two are thinking about living together again.
