Gummy sweets sold in supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons have been recalled because they could spark allergic reactions.
Mondalez has pulled certain packs of its The Natural Confectionery Co. Jelly Snakes because of undeclared wheat, due to a packaging error. Some packs accidentally contain Liquorice Allsorts sweets, which contain the wheat which isn’t mentioned on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, or an intolerance to wheat or gluten. Symptoms of a gluten allergy vary but can include vomiting and stomach pain. The products that are affected are 130g in size with the following batch codes and best before dates:
Batch code: OSH0B35072 (best before December 16, 2024)
Batch codes: OSH0F35111, OSH0B35112, OSH0F35112 (best before December 17, 2024)

Packs of The Natural Confectionery Co. Jelly Snakes have been recalled (Sainsbury's)All other batch codes and best before dates are unaffected by the recall. If you have bought the above product and have coeliac disease, or an allergy to wheat or gluten, do not eat it. Instead, shoppers are advised to return the sweets to the store from where it was purchased for a full refund. The full statement from Mondalez reads: "Mondelez International is recalling The Natural Confectionery Co. Jelly Snakes because it may contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs may contain Liquorice Allsorts sweets which contain wheat (gluten). This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten."
It comes after Aldi issued an emergency notice for its Lacura Cozmo His 100ml & Lacura Cozmo Hers 100ml perfume bottles due to the product potentially being able to cause injury. The notice has been put in place as the supplier of the perfume product has informed Aldi of a fault which may cause the glass bottle to break. This fault could potentially affect the product in all regions across the country.
Aldi has urged customers who have bought the products in question to return them immediately and they will receive a full refund. You will not need a receipt to receive your refund.
The recall notice read: "Please note that the following Emergency Withdrawal and Public Product Recall has taken place. As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling this product due to a fault which may cause the glass bottle to break."
