Detectives have arrested a woman after a man was found savaged in a garden on Christmas Day.
The victim, a 54-year-old man, is fighting for his life in hospital after he was attacked in a garden at a house in Swansea, Wales, in the afternoon. Police said they were investigating after officers were called to the house in the Penlan area of the city at around 2pm on Christmas Day, where the man was found seriously injured.
South Wales Police said on Boxing Day that the man was immediately to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. A 49-year-old woman from Swansea was arrested on suspicion of assault and was still in custody on Tuesday.
The force said detectives were now appealing for information. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Detective Inspector Paul Jones said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this assault or heard a disturbance in Heol Tegeirian, Penlan, on Christmas Day anytime up to around 2pm to please come forward.
"Enquiries are on-going in the area to help us determine the circumstances of this incident."
