Keanu Taylor's fate appeared to be sealed four years ago – at the hands of Linda Carter.

The EastEnders character was killed off in a dramatic showdown during the infamous Christmas Day special, eight years after he first arrived in Walford. Last night saw the storyline of The Six reach its climax, with people discovering who the murder victim was and who was responsible for his death.

After being jilted at the alter by Sharon Watts (Leitita Dean), Keanu (Danny Walters) made his way to the Queen Vic to discover Sharon covered in blood standing over Nish Panesar's (Navin Chowdhry) body, believing he was dead. As he attempted to strangle his ex-fiancée to death, out of nowhere, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stabbed him in the back with a carving knife.

Years before this, Keanu almost died in a tense scene with none other than Linda, who shot him. In a New Year's special which aired on January 1, 2020, viewers saw a flashback to Christmas Day as Keanu pleaded with the landlady for his life, while Martin Fowler (James Bye) aimed a gun at him.

Marin has been tasked with killing Keanu by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) following his affair with Sharon, while also dating his daughter Louise (Tilly Keeper). After being taken to an abandoned warehouse, with Linda also stowed in the van, Martin planned to kill the wannabe gangster but things went wrong.

Despite being tied to a chair, Kenau managed to break free of the rope which was used to tie his hands behind his back and the pair became embroiled in a violent tussle as they both reached for the gun. Amidst the chaos, Linda, who was battling alcoholism stumbled out of the van and attempted to leave. But when she heard a loud noise, she looked up and saw market trader Martin holding a gun.

Linda had attempted to run off but Martin dragged her back and she saw that Keanu was ok but bleeding from a head wound. She exclaimed: "You can't do this!" Martin responded: "Of course I can't, that's why he's still breathing! I know what they had planned but now it's not only one witness, it's two."

But Linda went on to plan Keanu's death and suggested shooting him in the shoulder, which Martin refused to do. However, a drunk Linda had no issues with it and aimed the gun at Keanu before pulling the trigger. Just seconds later, she was seen attempting to stem the bleeding before Martin pretended to shoot him again.
