Is Die Hard a Christmas movie is a question that divides fans across the globe.
Ever since its release in 1988, the iconic movie has captured the attention of audiences worldwide, with many households having it firmly on their festive playlist. The action thriller follows Bruce Willis' character, New York City policeman John McClane. Fans watch on as intently as he visits his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and their two kids on Christmas Eve.
However, as he joins in with her work Christmas party, their celebrations are abruptly interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise building and everyone in it. It's left to McClane as the only one who can save the day.

Although the storyline sounds anything but festive, it's the date in which it is set that has the debate rumbling on. And one person who is better than most to join the debate is Robert Davi. The actor, who plays FBI agent Big Johnson in the flick, has had his say - and believes it IS a Christmas movie.
World's largest Sean Connery-era James Bond poster collection up for saleHe told us: "Well, of course it's a Christmas movie. They re-released it in the States and it did terrific at the box office. It's playing right now in all the theatres because it's a Christmas movie."
Robert admitted he didn't initially look at the movie as being a festive flick, but has since changed his mind. He continued: "Well, when I first was doing it, I didn't think it was a Christmas movie in 1988 or whatever it was," he openly admitted. "I didn't necessarily say 'Oh, this is a Christmas movie.' But it absolutely has been.
"And you can even say Bruce Willis is this figure running around with his feet bleeding, you know what I mean? You know, it's set during Christmas. It's set during the holiday season. So it has that vibe. It's become a Christmas film; many people's favourite Christmas film."
Aside from Die Hard, Robert has played a number of roles in huge movies, such as The Goonies and James Bond's Licence to Kill. And he is also a seasoned singer, with a powerful voice bringing him success in the jazz charts thanks his Davi Sings Sinatra Album.
He also released Mistletoe and Holly in 2011 to try to help The Salvation Army provide emergency assistance to the millions of families in need. Discussing how the connection came about, he said: "Well, I did an album called Davi sings Sinatra that went to number six on Billboard jazz, and then after that, I met some people from the Salvation Army and I wanted to do a song that could help raise money, so I went into the studio did that and then gave it to them."
