Arsenal have the chance to return to the top of the Premier League on Sunday as they host Brighton at the Emirates Stadium.
Both sides played European football in midweek, with Arsenal drawing 1-1 away to PSV having already sealed their place atop their Champions League group. Brighton, meanwhile, enjoyed a more dramatic evening of continental action, beating Marseille 1-0 to top their Europa League group, with Seagulls fans celebrating a dramatic late winner from Joao Pedro.
With European action resuming in February, both clubs can now shift their focus fully onto domestic affairs, starting on Sunday afternoon in North London. Brighton have been stretched by the demands of continental competition so far this season and are currently eighth in the Premier League, albeit in close proximity behind Man United and Newcastle.
Brighton have lost just once in their last six matches, with a defeat to Chelsea on their last visit to the capital earlier this month. They will hope that they can improve on this as they seek to inflict back-to-back defeats on Arsenal, who lost on their last Premier League outing away to Aston Villa.
Brighton have a strong recent record away to Arsenal, winning on four of their last five visits to the Emirates, with their most recent being a 0-3 win back in May. Arsenal last won against the Seagulls back in May 2021 and will be keen to put that record to an end as they seek to continue their pursuit of a first Premier League title in 20 years.
