There’s good news if you use Sky Q with this popular device finally getting access to a swathe of extra content. The free boost is courtesy of an update from Channel 4 with the TV service finally launching its feature-packed app on Sky’s platform.

That means there’s now access to the full catalogue of Channel 4 content which can all be watched on demand.

Channel 4's app is actually Britain’s biggest free streaming service but until today it’s not been available on Sky Q - only Sky Stream and Sky Glass users have been able to tune in but that's all changing.

The update now offers more Sky viewers thousands of hours of content including boxsets of fan favourites such as Gogglebox, The Inbetweeners, Married at First Sight, and The Great British Bake Off.

The Channel 4 app also provides a range of other useful features including personalised content suggestions, the ability to continue watching across multiple devices, and a ‘My List’ feature to bookmark shows.

Next year, Channel 4 is also enabling a feature called Live Restart on Sky Q. This enables viewers who have missed the beginning of a programme to watch from the start.

Speaking about the update, Karla Berry, Distribution & Partnerships Leader, Commercial Innovation, Channel 4, said: “With today’s launch we’re bringing the very best, personalised Channel 4 streaming experience to millions of Sky Q customers across the country. Over the coming months viewers can expect to see us continue to enhance our presence across multiple platforms.”

And Jon Simkin, Managing Director, Channels & Partnerships, Sky, added: “We aim to give our customers the best entertainment experience, so we’re thrilled to be expanding Channel 4’s offering on Sky Q just in time for the Christmas period."

Sky Q users should find the Channel 4 app is available on their devices now.
