Here's everything you need to know to find a cheaper Apple product in the Boxing Day sales

Boxing Day is another huge date in the shopping calendar as hundreds of retailers drop their in-store and online prices to get rid of any leftover Christmas stock. And it's a huge date Apple fans can expect to find hundreds off the latest iPhone 15, iPad, or MacBook Pro M3 device.

With just over two weeks to go until Christmas Day the sale event is bound to come around quickly and it's one of the best chances tech shoppers will get to save money before prices rise again in the new year. And in competition with Android, Samsung, and Google, Apple is likely to be on many phones, laptops, tablets, wireless earbuds, and tech gadget shoppers' lists.

We've rounded up the key details you need to know to prep to find an Apple discount in the 2023 Boxing Day sales, including the exact retail storefronts you should save. Spoiler alert, the Apple Store won't be the best place to go to as we unveil why with the details you can find below.

Where to find cheaper Apple products ahead of Boxing Day sales:

When do Boxing Day sales start?

The Boxing Day sales traditionally start on the morning of December 26th but it's not unusual for retailers, especially these days, to start their deals events much earlier. This is exactly what's happened in the past few years, with most of the big-name retailers launching their Boxing Day sales online on Christmas Eve.

While it depends from retailer to retailer - a lot of shops are likely to offer extended 'December' or 'Winter' sales this year that usually start well ahead of time and carry over until January. Some retailers may keep their powder dry until the big day itself, while some may even carry over their prior Black Friday deals from last November. It depends on the retailer.

Apple's Boxing Day sale

As the recent November 2023 Black Friday sales proved Apple is notorious for not dropping the physical prices of its tech products, in fact, it very rarely offers a discount without asking you to buy a product at full price first.

There's a possibility that the tech brand will re-introduce its voucher shopping event this Boxing Day, which, if the same process as Black Friday, will see shoppers get a gift card of varying amounts depending on the product they buy. The price increases the more money you spend, so if you buy an expensive iPhone 15 or MacBook pro to get the biggest voucher amount, during Black Friday the highest amount was £160.

The catch? If it's like any of its voucher sale events in the past shoppers can only use this voucher on a separate purchase. This is why finding third-party retailers with Apple products is key.

Retailers that will stock cheaper Apple products this Boxing Day

Save these Apple landing pages at retailers to find price drops first this Boxing Day:

Amazon, Argos, Very, John Lewis, and Currys are retailers to save if you're on the lookout for a cheaper product, and want to pay outright without locking into a yearly contract. So you'll need to know when each retailer is likely to launch its individual Boxing Day sale and you can then look for a cheaper Apple device.

Amazon's end of year sales have already started, in what seems to be a trickle from the end of Black Friday, and will run into January. A quick look at the Prime site and there's a £20 saving on the Apple Watch Series 9, and savings on a range of 2021 and 2022 iPad's. While the iPhone 15 is yet to see huge price drops it may be one to watch closer to the December 26 Boxing Day date.

Tech products, including from Apple, are huge hitters with the yearly John Lewis winter sale, which usually starts from around mid December. Currently the retailer is offering a same £20 discount on the 2019 AirPods although its end of year sale hasn't officially started yet. You can save the Apple landing page on John Lewis, here.

Moving onto Currys, which is hugely popular for tech shoppers during any global sale event. Last year the retailer ran its Boxing Day sale from the morning of the December 26 date, and extended it for a couple of days.

For yearly contract shoppers you'll want to save the list of network providers; Sky Mobile, EE, O2, Virgin Media, Three and GiffGaff, to name just a few. As all providers are bound to drop their contract prices from December 26, and you may even get data thrown in for a lot less than usual too.
