Brits are set to invade the Golden Globes this year, with our film and telly stars dominating the nominations list.

Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham said she thought she had “died and gone to heaven” when she heard she had been nominated for the Best Supporting Female Actor on a TV Series award. And Ricky Gervais – who has previously hosted the ceremony – said his nomination in the Best Stand Up Comedian on TV category rounded off a “cracking year”.

The Crown’s cast have also fared well with Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton all up for awards, along with Succession’s Brian Cox and Matthew Macfadyen.

The category for the Best Actor in a Limited TV Series will see David Oyelowo (Lawmen: Bass Reeves) go up against Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones and the Six), while Rachel Weisz (Dead Ringers) will battle Juno Temple (Fargo) for the female gong.
