Sheridan Smith vows no more tattoos as crew spend three hours covering them

Sheridan Smith has revealed it took make-up artists three hours every day to cover up her tattoos before filming her latest thriller, The Castaways.

The actress, 42, has a mass of inkings, including a huge floral design on her left shoulder, a butterfly and angel wings on her wrists and C’est La Vie on her arm.

Sheridan said the team had to slap on cover-up before they could start shooting, admitting she will “never have another one”.

Many of her tattoos – including Daddy’s Girl on her right arm – are dedicated to her dad Colin, who died from cancer aged 80 in 2018.

Sheridan, who plays plane crash survivor Lori Holme in the Paramount+ mystery based on Lucy Clarke’s novel, also reveals filming in Greece was gruelling.

She tells the Radio Times Christmas Issue: “I had a challenge this year, the most physical part I’ve ever done. Running up and down a beach, climbing trees, jumping off cliffs, going through jungle, falling over, cutting my legs, then they say, ‘Go again,’ a few times more.

“I lost so much weight.”

Sheridan took three-year-old son Billy along with her for the shoot. “Billy had a ball,” she laughs. “And I could snuggle up with him at the end of every day.”
