Sam Thompson is no stranger to reality TV.
The likeable star made his name on E4's Made in Chelsea and as a result, went on to become a successful TV personality and social media influencer. And now, he is heading into the final of ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle.
The 31-year-old has faced struggles in his time in the spotlight and was recently diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In a TV documentary which aired earlier this year, Sam admitted he had felt different from his peers for most of his life, experiencing inattention, disorganisation and hyperactivity.
"As I got older it became more apparent when life got more serious, things started unravelling and I needed a read on myself," he said. "ADHD is a blessing and a curse, but it is the hyper focus eliminate of it, when I get hyper focused on something I enjoy, I love it, I love this industry."
Sam has been with his girlfriend Zara McDermott since early 2019. They briefly split in 2020 when Zara confessed to cheating on him with music industry executive Brahim Fouradi while appearing on The X Factor: Celebrity.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingHeartbroken Sam went on to forgive Zara, admitting he had also been unfaithful to girlfriends in the past. He said: "She was 22… You know when you look at them and you go: 'She ain't going to do that again?' I could see in her face. You can just tell when someone has a beautiful heart and a beautiful soul."
Four years on and the couple are happier than ever. Zara, 26, appeared on this year's series of BBC Strictly Come Dancing, reaching week six with dancer Graziano Di Prima. Sam and Zara had vowed not to succumb to the so-called "Strictly curse" and when she lost out in a dance-off to soap star Adam Thomas, Sam gushed in a video message: "'What you've achieved, is so admirable, I love you."
