A total stranger was added to a family group chat about the birth of a new baby and his sweet response was a relief which gave others 'hope'.
It's so easy to send a message to the wrong person with the amount of contacts we have in our phones these days and the resulting level of embarrassment depends on the content of the message and who it was sent to.
This was the situation new dad Zachary Garrett, who rushed to the hospital with his wife to welcome their third child - found himself in all while trying to keep the rest of the family up to date in a group Whatsapp chat.
Zach posted photos of his wife sitting up in the hospital bed as she prepared to give birth back in 2019, promising to send as many photos as he could to their excited relatives.
After some well-wishes from his 'meemaw', an unfamiliar face suddenly popped up in the chat. Posting a photo of himself sipping from a water bottle, the stranger introduced himself by writing: "Don't know how I got added to this group cause I don't think I know anyone in it! LOL But anywho CONGRATS ZACH!!
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says report"My name is Bobby by the way, shoot me your cashapp info and I will donate to the diapers." Speaking to Romper, Zach said he was 'a little embarrassed' by the slip up but Bobby's message has brought some light relief to the situation, who had handled it all superbly.
In a brilliant twist of fate, it turns out Bobby had inherited Zach's old phone number and had been added to the group chat accidentally by his grandmother.
After the family offered their apologies and attempted to let Bobby off the hook following his brilliant offer, the sweet stranger was having none of it.
"Anytime another life comes to us is a blessing and a beautiful thing!" Bobby said. "Just happy to see people happy! I'm serious tho, I will donate to the diapers cuz you can't ever have enough LOL."
Being a man of his word, Bobby donated to the new arrival and Zach responded by sending him a picture of their new baby girl. After Zach shared the touching story on Facebook, the post racked up thousands of shares and comments.
One said: "Things like this gives me hope in society! Thank you for this example!" Another replied: "What a sweet thing for him to do! Congratulations on your little one!"
Unsurprisingly, Bobby's kind heart didn't go unnoticed by a few potential suitors, with one writing: "Soooo where is Bobby? What city? LOL. Is he single? Tryna figure something out."
