Choosing a name for your new baby can be a tricky business and often it can be hard for parents to agree, so some are turning to an app similar to Tinder to help them out.
Deciding on the name a new person will have for the rest of their life is a huge responsibility. Not only does it have to suit the baby, who you haven't even met yet, but both parents need to agree on it too - no mean feat.
A young mum from Australia was struggling to find the perfect moniker for her new bundle of joy so she turned to a platform which works in a very similar way to the dating app Tinder, using a matching process.
Jessica, 23, shared how she found the name for her little girl on an app called Kinder that she and her partner both 'matched' on. They couldn't agree on anything for their newborn until they tried out the idea.
It works by swiping left on the names you don't like and right on the ones you do. When both partners swipe right on the same one - it's a match. Jessica urged others to give it a try because not only did they find it fun but it worked and they chose the only name they matched on for their baby.
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportIn her TikTok video she said: "For anyone looking for baby names, if you're pregnant and you can't find anything, I highly recommend getting on the baby name Tinder - I think it's called Kinder.
"My partner and I could not find a name at all and we found this app and it was just fun, you know you swipe left and right and you get matches for names you liked. The only girl name that we matched on is what we ended up calling our baby."
Jessica, who was holding her little girl called Daisy in the clip, said she thought it would be a great story to tell her when she was older: "It's just so cool, it's just so fun, it's a fun story to tell when they get older and be like, 'you got named from Tinder'. You definitely have to give it a go."
One person who thought it was a fabulous idea said they had successfully used Tinder so were definitely up for it: "Just downloaded it" I actually found my partner on Tinder, how cool would it be to say we found our baby name on Kinder."
Another expectant mum was very grateful for the tip: "Thank you so much for this. I'm 39 weeks and we still cannot decide on a name for our son," she wrote.
And others shared their success using the app: "I found my baby's name last year on that!" raved one. Another revealed: "That is how we picked our son's name!" A third said: "This is how we found our names list too!! Total life saver!"
