A dad from Massachusetts tragically died after the knife he was wearing as a necklace stabbed him in the throat in a freak accident that left a family reeling.
The incident took place in a car park and was initially thought to be foul play. It was later concluded that 42-year-old Patrick Kenney's death was an unfortunate accident by police, who determined that he had been stabbed by the knife he wore around his neck, describing the incident as a "horrible tragedy."
District Attorney Paul Tucker and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli said in a joint statement: "This incident appears to be accidental, and no additional parties are believed to be involved."

Kenney's family expressed their grief, stating: "Our family is mourning the loss of Patrick, focused on his wife Lauren and two young children, and trying to make sense of this horrific tragedy. Patrick was a loving father and husband, brother, son and loyal friend to many. This is a horrible tragedy."

Lauren Kenney's sisters, Liz and Bridget, started a GoFundMe to help their brother-in-law's immediate family.

Pat was not just a loving father; he was also Lauren's best friend and confidant. His sudden absence has created a void that words cannot fill."
They added: "As we navigate this challenging time, our main focus is ensuring that the children receive the support necessary to navigate their daily lives amid these newfound challenges."

The Wong family, owners of Kowloon, revealed that the Kenneys were frequent visitors to their restaurant. A spokesperson for Kowloon shared: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family. Nothing else matters at this time."
"We ask that people don't jump to conclusions until an investigation is completed," the Wong family continued. The incident happened in Saugus, a town about 11 miles from Boston.
