Amazon’s Prime Video has dropped the first official trailer for its upcoming Fallout series. Based on the hugely successful video game franchise, Fallout will launch exclusively on Prime Video next year,

Amazon confirmed the show’s release date earlier this year and it has now revealed the first-look teaser trailer, giving fans their first glimpse into the live-action Fallout universe. It shows more of the series’ signature characters – including The Ghoul – as well as its vaults, mysterious Wasteland and the Brotherhood of Steel.

The trailer promises plenty of action, tongue-in-cheek gore and a twisted, post-apocalyptic setting. The Fallout TV series comes from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy – the creators of Westworld – under their Amazon overall deal that also includes 2022 sci-fi series The Peripheral.

What is Fallout about?

Prime Video describes the Fallout series as a “story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have.” It follows a brand-new original story set in the world of the video games.

Its official synopsis reads: “Taking place 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind – and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
