Grace Dent was forced to pull out of this evening's Bushtucker Trial, leaving EastEnders actress Danielle Harold to replace her and join Josie Gibson to tackle Down The Tubes.

Beginning the trial on I'm A Celebrity tonight, host Ant McPartlin said: "Danielle, as you know, Grace was unable to take part and as you had the next highest number of votes we’ve got you down here as a last minute substitute. Do you feel OK about it? Is it better that you haven’t had a long time to prepare?”

"I think so, the shock might help a little bit and I’m glad I’m here with my Josie," Danielle said. Josie added: "I’m glad I’m here with my Tinkerbell. I’ve come here and said I’d give it my all and that’s what I’m going to do."

Despite feeling sad about Grace's departure, fans were delighted that Danielle was replacing her in the challenge, with one commenting: "My favourite right now is Danielle. The least person that complains and she’s full of positive vibes. #ImaCeleb." While another wrote: "danielle is KILLING it, I said from day one that she's the best kind of camp mate. so supportive and also gets stuck in. my queen of the jungle, loooooove her! #ImACeleb."

Dec explained the aim of the challenge: "This is Down The Tubes. You’ll each be strapped into one of these giant tubes, suspended high above the valley floor. One of you will be inside the red tube that contains 10 coloured stars. What you have to do is unlock the stars and then throw them to the celebrity that is in the blue tube, who will unlock their matching coloured box and place the star inside. If a star drops to the valley, it’s gone, you’ve lost it. That’s for the first 10 stars."

Ant went on to explain that for their final two stars they would need to untie a star and prepare to be dropped from their box. “All you’ve got to do to win the star is keep hold of it. There are 12 stars available and you’ve got 12 minutes to do it.”

The pair went on to do the trial and won 10 stars for camp. Afterwards, Josie said of her campmate: "Danielle is a golden nugget in life. You’ve got to look after your golden nuggets in life. I’m so happy that Danielle was there with me.”

Later, campmates learnt that Grace Dent quit the ITV show just hours after viewers voiced their concern for her appearance in camp. The food critic, 50, known for her strong opinions on cuisine, had looked pale and a shadow of herself on Sunday night's show and said on camera "I just want to go home". She was picked to do the latest trial Down The Tubes but barely reacted and stayed mute the entire time hosts Ant and Dec were in camp – and her campmates were seen gathering around her to comfort Grace once the duo left the camp.

Fans are concerned that another star could walk following Grace's exit. YouTube star Nella Rose has previously stated that she plans to quit the show as she too has struggled with the hideous conditions of the series. The 26-year-old influencer clashed with 51-year-old Fred Sirieix early in the competition after he said he was old enough to be her father - and she took offence as he knew her parents are both dead. The online star was shaken by the argument and later confessed to Grace that she was having second thoughts about being on the ITV show - but said she didn’t want to be the first celebrity to quit.

Earlier on in the series, fans feared that Jamie Lynn Spears would quit as she struggled over missing her two daughters. She had initially isolated herself from campmates and appeared "miserable", with ITV bosses worrying she could be a "flight risk". However, the singer and actress appears to have since come out of her shell and seems to now be enjoying jungle life.
