Kate Middleton now sounds posher than Prince William due to elocution lessons, according to the author of a new book.

The claim is made by Royal commentator Omid Scobie in his latest book 'Endgame' in which he details the Princess of Wales' journey from a student to becoming a princess. He recalls how she first caught Prince William's eye at a charity fashion show while studying at the University of St Andrews in 2001. The couple tied the knot ten years later at Westminster Abbey and are now proud parents to three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In his book, Scobie describes the Princess of Wales as an "institutional dream come true". He suggests that she has managed to transform herself into an enigma to fit her Royal role, possibly even to herself. According to the author, part of Kate's transformation involved "several rounds of elocution lessons", which have resulted in her sounding posher than her husband.

Scobie also reveals that Kate has had "five or six private secretaries" over the years. One of them reportedly described the job as "uninspiring and frustrating". The book also delves into the Princess' relationship with Meghan Markle, wife of her brother-in-law. Scobie alleges that Kate can be "cold if she doesn't like someone" and suggests that "she wasn't a fan" of Meghan.

"Kate spent more time talking about Meghan than actually chatting with her," a source revealed to Scobie, adding that Kate "jokingly shivered when Meghan's name was mentioned."

Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, also hints at this tension. He wrote that Meghan was "on edge" knowing she would be "compared to, and forced to compete with Diana." Scobie's new book, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarch's Fight for Survival, is set to hit the shelves on November 28.
