People who have bought duck breasts from Lidl are being urged to return them as they may be contaminated with salmonella.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a warning over the Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets with Plum, Soy and Ginger Sauce Sachet and Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets, Skin on and Boneless on Friday, as "salmonella has been found on the products above".
It stated: “Lidl is recalling Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets with Plum, Soy and Ginger Sauce Sachet and Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets, Skin on and Boneless because salmonella has been found in the products.
"Salmonella has been found in the products listed above. Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps."
The 450g packets of Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets with Plum, Soy and Ginger Sauce Sachet have a best-before date of 21 August 2024 while the Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets, Skin on and Boneless doesn't expire until 31 August 2024. No other Braemoor products have been affected by the recall, according to Lidl.

Customers are advised not to consume the product. Instead, the product can be returned to the Lidl store where it was purchased with or without receipt. Lidl wishes to apologise for any inconvenience causes. Any customers with queries or concerns can contact our Customer Services Team."
In August, Aldi customers were warned not to eat batches of two meat products that were pulled from supermarket shelves. The Deli Salami Selection and The Deli Continental Selection might've contained milk, which hadn't been mentioned on the packets' labels. It meant the products were a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, the FSA said.
