Prince William's relationship his brother Prince Harry, with whom he was once so close, has deteriorated to the point of seeing him as an "outsider", an explosive new book claims.
Harry, who opened up about the estrangement from his brother in his tell-all memoir Spare, previously said that although from his perspective "the door is always open" to reconcile "the ball is in [his family's] court."
The new book Endgame is written by journalist and royal author, Omid Scobie, and has been serialised before its official release next week in Paris Match. Scobie told the French magazine that William is "disappointed by Harry's life choices and galvanised by his newfound passion for the crown".
William, who became first-in-line to the throne last year upon the death of his grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth, now holds the title of Prince of Wales and the Duchy of Cornwall, has spent the last year settling into his new role, while correspondingly, Harry has continued to settle into life on the other side of the Atlantic outside of the institution of the monarchy.
While Harry returned to the UK to support his father during his Coronation, he had no official role in the ceremony, which took place at Westminster Abbey, unlike his brother William who was the only royal duke to pay homage to the new monarch - which entailed him promising to be Charles's "liege man of life and limb".

Since then, Harry has returned to the UK to give evidence in a trial at the High Court. He also returned to the UK over the anniversary of his grandmother's death - during which time he attended the WellChild awards and was spotted paying a private tribute to the late Queen at Windsor Castle.
After stepping back as a working royal in 2020, Harry has made some serious public allegations about his brother, including that William physically attacked him during a confrontation over Harry's wife, Meghan and that aides of his brother were responsible for leaking negative stories to the press about the Sussexes.
