Extras actress Ashley Jensen has confirmed she wed partner Kenny Doughty when she stepped out at the Scottish BAFTAs with a diamond engagement ring and wedding band on her finger.
The actress, who has appeared in programmes including EastEnders, Shetland and Ugly Betty, appeared loved up as she posed for pictures on the red carpet with her husband. The pair met on the set of 2017 BBC One drama series Love, Lies And Records, but started dating in 2021 after growing closer.
The couple are understood to have wed at Priston Mill in August, an idyllic property in the Duchy of Cornwall's Newton Park Estate in Bath. The ceremony has been described as 'emotional' and 'super fun' for the couple.
A friend described the day to the Daily Mail: "The day looked absolutely beautiful. Ashley looked just so, so happy. She was smiling and laughing, it was simply idyllic. There appeared to be so much love in that room."
Ashley, who was nominated on the night, showed off her new diamond ring as she posed for pictures on the red carpet. The blonde actress wore a strapless blue dress with her hair swept up in an up do, with husband Kenny by her side in a dapper looking dark grey suit and black shoes.
'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'Ashley has previously been married to fellow actor Terrence Beesley in 2007, who she shares 14-year-old son Francis with. Terence tragically committed suicide in 2017, which left Ashley "shocked" and "unable to forget it" as she found his body in the family's Mercedes after she returned from a day out with Francis.
Paramedics tried to revive Beesley, who played Buxton in ITV's Victoria and General Bennigsen in BBC One's War and Peace, but he was pronounced dead at the scene according to the report at the coroner's court. Ashley previously told Avon Coroner's Court in 2018: "I was extremely shocked by what happened that night and I will never forget it. Terry and I had been together for 18 years but I had no idea he was capable of what he did."
Ashley has found Kenny a huge "support" as a source told the Daily Mail: "He has been an immense support to her in the past few years. They make a lovely couple, and all their friends are absolutely delighted for them."
Kenny, who stars in Vera as DS Aiden Healy, was previously married to the English actress Caroline Carver for 11 years until they divorced in 2017.
