I'm A Celebrity's Nigel Farage could face a bust up with ex-boxer Tony Bellew - after old online messages surfaced showing him branding Farage "a maniac".
Bellew hit out at the Brexit campaigner in response to a video message in November 2022, where he claimed incorrectly that London, Birmingham and Manchester were now all classed as minority white cities. In the video, Farage says: "There is a massive change in the identity of our country through immigration."
On Twitter /X Bellew responded to Farage's video by saying: “Why does someone’s colour matter? Who cares if you're white, black, yellow or pink? All that matters is are they good or no good people! Learn to see people for who they are and not what they look like! It’s cos of people like you that racism still exists! Absolute maniac you are!"
Bellew, who will enter the camp as a latecomer alongside jockey Frankie Dettori, is not the first campmate who could potentially clash with Farage. In the past, Fred Sirieux branded the ex-UKIP boss in 2017 a “coward who likes attention” while fellow campmate Grace Dent has also waded in on him.
In the first episode of I'm A Celebrity on ITV, hosts Ant and Dec also took a swipe at Farage with a cheeky dig at the politician's presenter role on GB News.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingOpening the programme, Dec explained: "There's the man who's got everyone talking. Nigel Farage. Nigel is now, not just known for his controversial political career, he's also got his own show on GB News. Now of course, he won't be presenting that show over the next three weeks. So we'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to all of GB News viewers." In their cheeky Geordie humour, Ant then quipped: "Sorry Keith, sorry Linda."
Ant and Dec faced a huge backlash last week over the decision to let the controversial former politician fly out to the jungle, with some fans threatening to boycott the show before it even began. It has been rumoured that production bosses have paid Farage over £1.5million to join this year's list of famous faces.
More than 1,000 people have sent complaints to Ant and Dec who are already down under ahead of filming and further celebrity arrivals.
