A woman is refusing to attend her best friend’s wedding becoming 'entangled in a wedding drama of epic proportions.’ The woman, who goes by the name of moh_throwaway1 on Reddit, told users that a last-minute change of wedding plan had caused the drama, leaving her feeling hurt and confused.
She set the scene by saying: “My recently engaged best friend asked me to be her maid of honour, and words can't even describe how happy I was. We’ve been inseparable since kindergarten, and I was ready to make her big day unforgettable.”
After planning and spending in excess of £500 ($700) on her best friend’s hen do, she helped her plan the wedding of her dreams: “Right down to contacting the vendors and setting dates when she was too busy. I also made the save the date and invitation cards,” she recalls.

It wasn’t until two weeks before the wedding that her friend dropped a big bridal bombshell, asking her to step down from maid of honour duties so that her future sister-in-law could take over the role. “I was p***ed, and we got into a huge argument over this,” she continued, admitting: “I said things I wasn't proud of.”
Since then, the friend detailed how she had received texts from friends, family, the groom’s family, and even her friend’s sister-in-law: “They told me I'm a drama queen who needs to get over herself and that it isn't about me.”
“This has really gotten to me,” she said, before asking Reddit readers: “I need to know: was I in the wrong?” One reader fully supported the friend, saying: “She changed her mind about you being her maid-of-honour after you've done so much for her and spent so much money, so you get to change your mind about attending the wedding. Simple as that.”
Another said: “Girl, you are so not the A-hole here! You poured your heart and cash into making your bestie's wedding epic, and then she pulls a switcheroo on you? That's majorly messed up…You deserve better vibes.”
Another gave her some bold bridal business advice to regain the money she’d lost after planning the hen-do: “She essentially used you to fulfill the duties and when it was all done, gave the position to someone else. Send her an invoice.”
