Nostradamus, the French philosopher who pooled predictions for centuries after his death, had some chilling expectations for what 2024 may bring.

Potentially grim news could be on the way if Michel de Nostredame's prophecies come true. Some claim he had successfully predicted the rise of Adolf Hitler, the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and even the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy. Tipped as prophesising the cost of living crisis this year, some believe Nostradamus' book from 450 years ago is capable of predicting the future. Predictions from the mystic for 2024 claim there could be drama for the Royal Family, a breakout of war and a major tsunami. Analysts and authors are now coming together to figure out what these predictions could mean for 2024.

One major prediction from Nostradamus makes reference to a "King of the Isles" being "driven out by force". Though there is no reference to any particular royal figurehead, some experts believe it could be King Charles who is set for exile. Nostradamus' claim read: "King of the Isles driven out by force... replaced by one who will have no mark of a king." Expert Mario Reading, analyst and author of the book The Nostradamus Prophecies, believes the King could step down due to "persistent attacks on both himself and his second wife," Queen Camilla. Accurate predictions from Nostradamus on the Royal Family were recorded just last year according to the Daily Star, with the prophecy maker correctly pinning the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and her age at the time of death.

Tsunami troubles were also cited by the soothsayer, who claims a series of "great floods" will hit parts of the world, only to be followed up by a "great famine". Grim predictions from the prophet read: "The dry Earth will become more parched and there will be great floods." A "very great famine through pestiferous wave" would hint at the possibility of the tsunami impacting farmland. Escalating conflicts in the ocean were also noted as not only are "great floods" to hit but "dread" will filter through the oceans.

Naval conflict was predicted by the French philosopher, who says an international conflict could bubble up in 2024. He wrote: "Red adversary will become pale with fear, putting the great ocean in dread." Reckoning it could be China and the Indian Ocean, experts believe Nostradamus was putting a nod toward growing conflict in Asia. There are even potential plans from the Communist country to enter a space race with the United States.

There could even be a new pope on the cards according to the prophecy maker. Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, is set to turn 88 next year and the mystic maintains it will be his last. A series of health woes for the Pontiff were reported earlier this year. Nostradamus wrote: "Through the death of the very old Pontiff, a Roman of good age will be elected." Whether a new pope will be selected next year is yet to be seen, though prediction specialist Nostradamus appears to think it is likely.
