Aileen Wuornos, an American serial killer, gave her final message moments before her execution in 2002 in Florida - pledging to return.
Wournos smiled as witnesses from the execution room watched her utter her chilling final last statement: "Yes, I would like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back with Jesus, like Independence Day. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and everything, I'll be back, I'll be back." In January 1991, Wournos, who had been found guilty of killing seven men between 1989 and 1990, was arrested and sentenced to six death sentences. In her defence, Wournos claimed that all the men had either raped her or attempted to rape her at the time.

(Getty Images)She was found guilty of the murder of Richard Mallory but eventually confessed to the other six to the authorities in late 1991. Showing an egregious lack of remorse, she said: "I killed those men, robbed them as cold as ice. And I'd do it again, too. There's no chance in keeping me alive or anything, because I'd kill again. I have hate crawling through my system."
The body of her seventh victim, Peter Siems, was never found, so Wournos dodged a murder charge. However, her palm print was found on the Interior of Peter Tiem's car. Having spent a decade on death row at Florida Department of Corrections Broward Correctional Institute, Wournos was practically begging to be put to death. In 2001, she urged the state of Florida to execute her saying the ordeal was a waste of taxpayer money.

(Getty Images)She asserted that there was no point in sparing her life and promised to be a repeat offender if released—however, with six death sentences looming over her, freedom wasn't an option anymore. Wournos spoke about her crimes in two documentaries, Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer and Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer, produced by Film Director Nick Broomfield in which she spoke about her crimes. Wournos' interview with Broomfield shows her answering his questions in a feral manner while wearing her orange jumpsuit. Nick is heard asking Wournos why she killed the men. Wournos, seemingly agitated, yells that the cops let her carry out the murders and told Nick he was "so lost."
