Vanessa Feltz has dismissed rumours that Phillip Schofield will be joining the cast of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! or Celebrity Big Brother, admitting she'd be "absolutely flabbergasted" if the speculation was true.
Phillip resigned from hosting This Morning with Holly Willoughby in May after confessing he'd had an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger colleague at the ITV show.
The 61-year-old's reputation as a family man was severely damaged by the scandal, which also saw him dropped by his agency YMU and losing his role as an ambassador with the Prince's Trust. In an interview with the BBC interview the following month, he revealed he'd had suicidal thoughts after he'd 'lost everything.'
It has now been suggested that Phillip, who has kept a low-profile since the scandal, could make a big TV comeback on a future series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here. Vanessa Feltz doesn't appear to think it's going to happen, however, admitting she'd be stunned if there was legitimacy to the reports.
"I don't know anything about it [the rumours] all. I would be absolutely flabbergasted if that were true," the TalkTV host told OK! magazine. "Phillip Schofield, I would say put your money on him going nowhere near the place!"
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingWhen asked about the possibility of him becoming a Celebrity Big Brother contestant, she confirmed: "I wouldn't put any money on that either. I think absolutely not to both of those."
Vanessa has been a long-time friend of Phillip, and famously supported him during his This Morning scandal. She was even seen hugging him at London restaurant Little Bird after the incident, which she admitted left her "absolutely devastated on behalf of everyone" who had been affected.
"I've always been good friends with Holly and Phil, I've been on that show for years and years," the 61-year-old explained. "I just feel very sorry for anybody who's been hurt or implicated in what's happened."
Vanessa appeared on the debut series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2001, as well as its spin-offs, Big Brother's Big Mouth, Big Brother's Little Brother and Big Brother's Bit on the Side.
She has since described her time in the Big Brother house as a "complete living nightmare from hell", suggesting she doesn't think it would be the right environment for Phillip.
Meanwhile, Martin Lewis, the moneysaving expert, is rumoured to be Phillip's replacement on This Morning, according to reports. OBLG gave odds of 20/1 on the 51 year old becoming a permanent host.
Martin has previously proved himself as a successful host with his occasional stints presenting Good Morning Britain, but there's no official word yet on whether he'll be joining the ITV breakfast show.
