American gofler Scott Stallings has invited his namesake to play a round of golf with him at Augusta National after his Masters invite was delivered to the wrong address. Stallings has qualified for this year's Masters and was eagerly awaiting his iconic invite in the post.

As the weeks went by his invitation to Augusta never arrived, until he received a remarkable message on social media. Stallings received a direct message on Instagram from a follower who shared the exact same name as him.

It turned out that the three-time PGA Tour winner's invite was in fact posted to the wrong Scott Stallings, who resided in Georgia.

After being sent the message from his namesake, Stallings shared it to his social media followers.

It read: "Hi Scott my name is Scott Stallings too and I’m from GA, my wife’s name is Jennifer too! I received a FedEx today from the Masters inviting me to the Masters Tournament, April 6-9 2023…

"“I play, but wow! Nowhere near your level. It’s a very nice package complete with everything needed to attend. I think we have some confusion because of our names, our wife’s names and geographical location.

"I can be reached at [redacted] and I am more than happy to send this package to you.” The other Stallings - who works as a realtor - has since posted an update on his own social media account, with a video showing him posting the Augusta invite out to the PGA Tour star.

The remarkable story has a happy ending for the amateur golfing realtor though, after Barstool Sports' Dan Rapaport reported that his professional namesake has in fact invited to join him for a round at the famous Georgia course one one of the tournament's practice days.

Rapaport tweeted: "Just caught up with Scott Stallings. He’ll be hosting the other Scott Stallings at a Masters practice round in April!!! Turns out the invitation was sent to a now-defunct management company, and the Other Scott Stallings owns a condo adjacent to the building. Wild coincidence."
