There are just hours left before Disney+ fans across the UK will be charged more to stream, as the provider hikes the price from £7.99 a month to £10.99 as soon as we reach November 1. Although eagle-eyed Cinderella, Star Wars, and Welcome to Wrexham fans will spot there's a way to avoid the costs altogether.

As the countdown to the pricier plans is well and truly underway those who act fast will be able to lock into the cheaper £7.99 price for a whole year, not only avoiding the hike but getting three months completely free. As a farewell to its rates, Disney+ is currently offering a full year of the subscription for the price of eight, but only if you buy the annual plan upfront.

That's because the Marvel streaming site has decided to cut the price of its yearly plan to £79.90, which may sound like a hefty price outright but it works out the same as paying £7.99 a month - and you'd walk away saving £15.98 if you lock into it before November 1 hits.

And prices aren't the only thing changing from the November 1 date, as two new plans will be created to boost the quality of content. You could save by cutting the quality and access on its basic £4.99 a-month plan, while the other new £10.99 addition will get users access to sharp quality and the ability to watch on multiple devices at once.

All features which make it a competitive site hand-in-hand with the likes of Netflix and Apple TV+, both rival streamers which are also proving not to be shy when it comes to asking for money. It started with Netflix and the introduction of its £4.99 fee for sharing your log-in and password (a shattering prospect for scrimping students wanting to log into their parent's accounts).

Apple TV+ has jumped on the bandwagon too with its £24 price rise, it's subscription is jumping from £6.99 to £8.99 a month, and unlike Disney+ there's no free monthly offer to join to get ahead of the increases. Those in favour of the Apple branded site can lock in six months for free by jumping onto Sky's one month free Stream trial, not only does this cut £29 off the pacakge but you'll get Apple TV+ thrown in for free too.

Not looking for a full year? Then our Disney+ roundup of deals is bound to help with more than six ways of bagging a free monthly subscription, ranging from three to a full free 12 months.
