SAS Who Dares Wins viewers baffled at Matt Hancock's 'stupid' medical question

SAS Who Dares Wins viewers were left stunned after former Health Secretary Matt Hancock didn't know what the daily paracetamol intake was.

The disgraced politician is appearing in the grueling Channel 4 show which aims to recreate the extremely tough SAS selection process. During Sunday night's episode Hancock got a battering from Love Island ’s Teddy Soares and whined about being badly treated over his role in the Covid crisis.

Yet the former health secretary, who served for nearly three years before resigning in June 2021 following a scandal involving a breach of Covid-19 guidelines, stunned viewers with his apparent lack of medical knowledge. After being brutally slammed off a floating podium, Hancock was seeking pain killers to help soften the blow.

He rummaged through his belongings and found some paracetamol but asked the other celeb recruits: "What's the maximum amount of paracetamol you can take?" TOWIE star Amber Turner replied: "Eight," yet Hancock asked: "Is that the recommended or the actual?" She answered: "Maximum."

Viewers were stunned at his question considering his former job. Taking to X - formerly known as Twitter, one person said: "Did the former health secretary just ask how many paracetamol you can take." Another added: "Former health secretary asking the what the max daily dose of paracetamol is on #saswhodareswins oh dear."

Someone else commented: "Former health minister believes he did the right thing, no fault, no blame, he did his best, also former health minister doesn't know how many paracetamol to take." A fourth wrote: "I always assumed a former health secretary would know how many paracetamol to take."

Later in the show Hancock was taken to talk to the directing staff who interrogated him on why he signed up to the show. He moaned: “I feel a sense of injustice at being… essentially accused of corruption, because that is what it boils down to. I’ve essentially given my professional life so far in public service and I know for a fact we did the right thing, and I didn’t benefit a drop from it.

"I was doing the best I could in difficult circumstances, and now I get a load of sh*t from it.” CCTV caught married dad of three Hancock breaking his own lockdown rules by snogging his lover Gina Coladangelo in his office in June 2021. He quit in disgrace the next day and told his wife Martha their 15-year marriage was over.

Hancock was also blasted over the award of billions of pounds worth of PPE contracts, with a judge ruling he acted unlawfully by failing to publish details. On the programme he said: “What matters is what I think of myself and what the people I love and care about think of me, and what people I respect think of me.”

He was later interrogated by a Liz Truss lookalike who swore and threw insults in his face as he stood in his pants. Matt has been paid £45,000 to be in the reality show following his surprise stint on last year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here where he took home £320,000 and a suspension from the Tory party.

Viewers revelled in his SAS interrogation as one said: "Matt Hancock being called a “c*ck sucking, weasel faced c*nt” on national television was not on my bingo card. But boy did I love it." Another added: "This female interrogator going off at Matt Hancock is basically doing what every person in the UK wants to do." Someone else quipped: "oh the joy of watching a tiny blonde woman call Matt Hancock 'you weasel-faced c**t' on #SASWhoDaresWins. Thank you, madam, you speak for a nation."
