Tesco makes huge meal deal change to take on rivals Pret - it'll save you cash

Lunchtimes are set to get a boost as Tesco has announced it is to launch a number of new "premium baguettes" to take on the likes of rivals like Pret.

As part of the new premium deal, worth £5 with a Clubcard or £5.50 without, people can get themselves one of the chain’s new baguettes which come with a choice of five fillings. Hungry customers can choose from mozzarella, tomato and basil pesto; chicken and beechwood bacon caesar; tuna, mayo and cucumber; Wiltshire ham, cheddar and dijon mustard; and free range egg mayonnaise and rocket. Standard Tesco meal deals cost £3.90, or £3.40 with a Clubcard.

Violaine Barthe, Tesco's brand manager told Sun Online: "We know our customers like the occasional lunchtime treat and our new range of baguettes with five delicious fillings give them the perfect excuse to do so. And with a main, snack and drink in our Premium meal deal costing just £5 for Clubcard members, treating yourself at lunchtime doesn’t have to break the bank.”
