Travelling long distances by car with your family isn't always plain sailing, especially if your passengers constantly ask you to stop at the nearest services so they can go to the loo or get something to eat.
And while many of us may have joked about leaving loved ones behind and driving off without them, none of us would actually do it - except one man, who accidentally left his wife by the side of the road when he got back into his car without checking if she was with him.
The man and his wife, from Thailand, embarked on a road trip to spend time in the woman's hometown over Christmas, but in the middle of the night, they stopped by the side of the road so that the man could go to the toilet.
Her husband drove off without her (stock photo) (Getty Images)When they stopped, Amnuay Chaimoon, 49, asked her husband Boontom Chaimoon, 55, why he hadn't stopped at the petrol station they had recently passed, but he didn't hear her so didn't answer.
Amnuay then also decided to step out of the car for a pee break, Thai news site Matichon reports, but by the time she returned to the road, she was stunned to find that her husband had driven off without her and was now nowhere to be seen.

Matichon reports she said: "At that time, I felt lost and scared, not thinking that my husband would forget me by the side of the road alone."
With all her belongings still in the car, Amnuay had no choice but to continue on foot and began walking the staggering 20km (or 12.4 miles) toward the nearest town of Kabin Buri, where local police then tried to help her get back in touch with her husband.
But that also proved difficult, as police called Boontom at least 20 times throughout the night until he finally answered the following morning - when he then had to turn his car around and drive back to where his wife was waiting for him.
The man insisted he believed his wife had been asleep in the backseat the entire time, and Thai media report that he apologised profusely to his wife when they were reunited.
Amnuay got back into the car without argument, but the ordeal has left Boontom open to brutal mocking on social media.
One person wrote: "That's the last pee of his life."
While another said: "It's time to rethink your marriage ... or rather who you married."
