A huge fire broke out in a former nightclub this evening with the emergency services receiving multiple calls.

The former C103 nightclub on Union Street in Plymouth went up in flames at around 8.30pm, with fire crews describing it as "well alight". A video filmed at the scene shows smoke billowing from the building as multiple fire crews attempt to tackle it.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire Control received multiple reports of a derelict building fire. On arrival of crews they confirmed one derelict nightclub well alight. They requested further assistance totalling four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform in attendance."
