Disney is celebrating 100 years of magic today (October 16) and what better way to join in the fun than by testing your House of Mouse knowledge in our fun-filled quiz?
Ten decades of creativity, innovation, and determination created The Walt Disney Company you know today, and it all started back in 1923 when Walt and his brother Roy founded the Disney Animation Studios in Hollywood. A mere five years later Mickey Mouse was drawn for the first time.
In 1937, the studio unveiled its first animated feature film, Snow White, inspired by the Grimm fairy tale. Fast forward to 1955 and the Disneyland theme park opens in California, with Walt Disney World arriving in Florida in 1971, five years after Walt's death. Disney was by now a global powerhouse, snapping up Pixar in 2006, Marvel in 2009, plus Lucasfilm and Star Wars in 2012 before launching the Disney Plus streaming platform in 2019.
The studio's timeless creations are ingrained in popular culture, from Donald Duck and Goofy through to Stitch, Simba, Cinderella and Ariel 'The Little Mermaid' to name just a few.
