Rapper Drake lost $850,000 on Logan Paul's fight with Dillon Danis - despite backing the right man to win.
Paul took on Danis over six rounds last night alongside KSI's defeat by Tommy Fury in Manchester. Paul dominated the first five rounds before Danis was disqualified in the final session for attempting to choke out his rival.
Paul was declared the winner - but not by knock out as Drake had predicted. The rapper, who is seen as something of a curse given his poor gambling record, had staked $850,000 (£700,000) on Paul to win by stoppage and would have collected $1.3million (£1m) had he been successful.
Drake's latest loss comes hot on the heels of his last disappointment when he staked $500,000 on then UFC champion Israel Adesanya to retain his middleweight title against Sean Strickland only for the New Zealander to lose by decision.
Paul had been a short favourite to beat Danis, who was making his boxing debut, and was also favoured to stop the MMA fighter. But Danis refused to engage throughout the bout, instead keeping his hands high in an effort to frustrate his opponent.
Molly-Mae hints at showing baby in her first YouTube as she teases special videoUltimately the former Bellator fighter tried to take the fight to the canvas in the fifth round before attempting to choke out Paul in the sixth. His actions led to security guards flooding the ring which saw the fight stopped prematurely.
After the ring had been cleared, Paul lashed out at his opponent having endured months of vitriolic trolling aimed at himself and his fiancee, Danish model Nina Agdal. "One thing we did do, is beat his f***ing b**** ass! He's put me through hell these last two months, me and my girl we got stronger than ever!" he shouted.
"Dillon Danis is a coward, just a dirty human being. Dealing with a guy like that is not easy. He’s a coward, a true demon. He calls himself a real fighter? What we talking about? Hey Conor McGregor, I took your b*** put him on a leash and took him for a walk. He’s supposed to be good at jiu-jitsu, what happened? He tried the takedown I stopped that and I stopped the guillotine."
