Love Island star Gemma Owen has sparked speculation of a romance with Welsh rugby star player Louis Rees-Zammit.
Social media fans have been digging around to find evidence that Gemma Owen – who is also the daughter of football legend Michael Owen, 43 – and Louis could be dating.
Gemma partnered up with 24-year-old fishmonger Luca Bish on ITV2's Love Island and they ended in second place – but went on to break up three months after the season ended. Now fans think romance could be brewing between Louis and Gemma after noticing flirty behaviour between the two online.
Love Island fans have noticed they follow each other on Instagram and frequently like each others’ content. While there have also been comparisons between Louis and Gemma’s former Rugby playing boyfriend Jacques O'Neill, 24, who also appeared on Love Island in 2022. Fans are convinced Louis, with his chestnut hair and cheeky chappy demeanour, is a perfect love match for her.
Louis has previously dated professional netball player Alicia Scholes, who is the daughter of ex-England footballer Paul Scholes, 48. Louis told the BBC previously: "I used to date his daughter - so it was a running joke. He always used to try to make me play for England but I wasn't having any of it."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingMeanwhile, Gemma was recently thought to be dating boxer Prince Naseem Hamed's son, Aadam.
According to sources, the pair have only recently started following each other on Instagram and were allegedly spotted together on a recent date night in Birmingham.
Gemma opened up about the collapse of her romance with Luca at the end of last year. She told a podcast last December: “These last few weeks, as going through any breakup, it’s not nice. It’s not a nice time.
“Having to deal with the press and other people’s opinions, and people thinking that they know what’s going on when they don’t, that’s been challenging. But overall, I’m doing ok. I’m getting through it and keeping busy.”
Luca also addressed the split, with a statement released via social media. He wrote online: ”We have been on such a journey together and have made some amazing memories which I will treasure. I can't thank everyone enough for all their support for us as a couple during and after Love Island.”
More recently, he has been starring on the celebrity edition of MasterChef. Viewers were stunned to see the reality star reveal he had “no idea” how to cook - despite having a pre-fame job in the food industry.
He said on the show: “The pork... I had no idea, and then for the dinner dish, I cooked fish, which I can handle but had no idea how to cook it. But when I made a mistake in that kitchen it was all about trying to disguise it, act cool at all times, and just go: ‘That was meant to happen.’ I definitely got one mistake past John and Gregg, a big one. I don’t know if you’ll see it because I disguised it so well. In the end I even got complimented in the mistake - so I was buzzing after that.”
