Married At First Sight Australia stars Melinda Willis and Layton Mills revealed they split up.

The couple, who met on the dramatic series in 2022, took to Instagram to share a throwback photo from their wedding day as they released a joint statement. "Hi all – we wanted to keep this private for the time being, but we have a lot of supporters that are invested in the relationship and owe it to you to be transparent," they started.

"After a lot of thought and consideration, we have sadly decided to both take time apart. We still care very deeply for each other and this doesn't mean our lives can't come back together, but as of now, we think this decision is for the best. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all your support throughout our journey, it has meant the world to us. We hope you can understand and ask for your kindness and respect during this time."

In August, Layton and Melinda celebrated their one year anniversary since meeting on the show. "On Sunday night we celebrated the 12 month anniversary of Melton," Melinda said at the time. "Who would have thought! What an absolute crazy ride it's been and you guys have been there with us, through it all."

Layton even recently moved home to be closer to Melinda. The reality star lived in Sydney but wanted to be closer to her. She filmed a clip recently and told fans: "I have just driven three-and-a-half hours to come meet this person. Layton has officially moved from Sydney and is drivable distance now."
