A tackle made by Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Marcus Peters arguably cost the Green Bay Packers victory in the NFL.

The Packers were beaten 17-14 by the Raiders as Week 5 came to a close in front of the "Monday Night Football" cameras. It was a second consecutive loss for Green Bay as Matt LaFleur’s team fell to 2-3 for the season.

At half-time the score was 10-3 in favour of the Raiders, but that deficit was removed thanks to a touchdown from AJ Dillon to level the scores. The Packers then managed to get the ball back and had the chance to take the lead.

With 7:15 remaining in the third quarter, and the Packers 1st and 10 on their own 17-yard line, quarterback Jordan Love managed to find a deep pass to Christian Watson. The wide receiver spun away from the Raiders defenders and run toward the endzone.

Just as Watson looked set to score a touchdown, he was brought down with a “horse-collar” tackle by Peters. The Packers managed to have a 1st and goal on the six-yard line, but the tackle by Peters was flagged by the referees.

The Raiders were handed a three-yard penalty, and the ball was placed on the three-yard line for the Packers. However, Green Bay failed to score a touchdown with the fresh set of downs and had to settle for three points from an Anders Carlson field goal rather then seven or eight that would have come from a touchdown.

Watson was honest with his assessment of the play that saw him fall just short of the endzone. The Packers’ second-year receiver admitted that he felt he needed to do better despite being on the end of an illegal tackle.

"It's tough," Watson said on Monday, via the . "At the end of the day, I don't even think I should be in that position, I should be able to outrun him at that point. I've just got to be faster."

The field goal from Carlson took the score up to 13-10 for the Packers with 5:16 remaining in the third quarter. That would go on to be the final score of the game for Green Bay, which would ultimately cost the team the game.

Raiders running back went on to score a two-yard rushing touchdown with 14:56 left on the clock in the fourth quarter. That took the score up to 17-14 and would be enough for Las Vegas to win the game.
