Woke up feeling fresh after a night of politics and laughs at a recording of the For The Many podcast with Dr Rosena Allin-Khan.

She’s funny and intelligent in equal measures and I really loved her passion for the NHS. It was interesting hearing her talk about mental health and being an MP. I really think she’s one to watch!

Jacqui Smith, who co-hosts the podcast, is chair of the Jo Cox Foundation, which is looking at civility in politics. For MPs the abuse is going up, and that is because they are more accessible online.

Rosena gets death threats and is trolled with vile abuse so she is really keen to stamp it out and support people with their mental health. I’ve been a victim of trolling in the past so I completely understand how it can affect you.

I had a quick look on X (formerly known as Twitter) to see any feedback from our event on Sunday and most of it was just abuse at Lisa Nandy who gave an amazing opening speech for the panel.

It’s just not right, and it’s not fair that these people are putting themselves forward to change our country but are just being targeted and abused.
