Ahead of their pay-per-view grudge fight, boxing rivals KSI and Tommy Fury have just one piece of common ground; their hatred of YouTube boxer Jake Paul.

The British duo will fight next week at the AO Arena in Manchester on pay-per-view atop a massive event full of influencer boxing entitled The Prime Card. The younger Paul brother is expected to attend in support of his brother Logan, who competes in the co-headliner against Dillon Danis.

And during their pre-fight face-off, Fury and KSI both noted that they have a little bit of shared hatred for the American, although only the Love Island star has managed to settle that beef in the ring as yet. He defeated Paul in February, but the previously touted fight between he and KSI fell apart in negotiations on multiple occasions.

“It gets him out of bed in the morning," Fury said of KSI's motivation to box after already becoming a multi-millionaire in his life as a YouTuber and rapper. "At least we can agree on one thing, I like the challenge too and I loved shutting Jake Paul up. That man talked a lot of crap for two-and-a-half years and had nothing to back it up.

"We’ll see. I hope you do because I’m in a different mind frame here, I don’t want to go in there and show who’s the proper boxer and who’s more skilful. I want this man to not walk out of the ring." KSI then told Fury: “I just like proving people wrong, I just like the challenge - I love the challenge, there’s something about it that just brings the fire out.”

Fury faced his first test under the pressure of a pay-per-view main event against Paul, and admitted that he struggles with turning his sparring performances into great showings in the ring. He will have a tough test ahead of him with 21,000 fans watching at the AO Arena on October 14, more than triple the attendance at his fight with the American in Saudi.

“Sparring isn’t fighting," he noted after KSI claimed that he was facing better opponents in the gym. "If sparring was like fighting then I would be a world champion, let me put it that way. People can perform in the gym, but when it’s underneath them bright lights guess what happens? Arse falls out.”
