With Diablo 4 Season 2 officially launching later this month, Activision Blizzard has detailed all the major changes set to come via update 1.2.0’s patch notes.

The Diablo 4 Season 2 launch is now less than two weeks away. This is much to the elation of Diablo 4 fans everywhere who are hoping that the live-service game’s second season, Season of Blood, will be enough to get Activision Blizzard’s latest Diablo game on track after a series of stumbles involving nerfed character patches and a lack of storage space.

A lot of this was addressed in last night’s Diablo 4 Season 2 developer update livestream. It was here where associate director of community Adam Fletcher and other studio team members talked up a lot of the changes, including the new vampiric powers, enemy families and fresh endgame bosses. Soon after the livestream ended Activision Blizzard published the full Diablo 4 patch notes for update 1.2.0 on its official site, which arrives alongside Diablo 4 Season 2 on Tuesday, October 17.

Update 1.2.0 ushering in a new Diablo 4 season makes the patch notes extremely extensive, as you can imagine. The headline addition is the five new endgame bosses, unlocked after completing certain specific tasks within the world of Sanctuary. Then there are the balance changes to endgame activities like Legion Event wait times being reduced from 30 minutes to 25 and World Boss fights occurring more frequently across all World Tier levels. Most exciting, though? Gems will no longer take up inventory slots (thank heavens).

If you want to know exactly how else Diablo 4’s endgame will be changing when Season of Blood arrives later this month, and what other quality-of-life updates are coming, we’ve gathered up the complete list of update 1.2.0 patch notes below:

Update 1.2.0 patch will go live the same day that Diablo 4 Season 2 launches, in line with Activision Blizzard's new approach of announcing what changes to the game are coming to players prior to them taking effect. There's no word yet on whether the game will experience any maintenance or downtime, but we'll keep you posted as soon as the developers reveal whether that's the case.
