Quality Street fans may notice something different in their chocolate box this Christmas season. But there's no need to panic - all of the chocolates will taste exactly the same.

Nestle, who owns the brand, will be making a change to two of its iconic flavours. The chocolatiers have modified the appearance of its two most iconic flavours, The Purple One and Orange Crunch. For a limited time only both chocs will be in the shape of the Caramel Swirl, which is another popular choice amongst Quality Street fans. The Chocolate Swirl is one of the rounder chocolates, featuring a swirly pattern and covered in a gold wrapper.

This is compared to The Purple One, which has more of an oval shape and the Orange Crunch, which is in the shape of a hexagon. While both of the chocolate delights will change in shape, they will still be in their purple and orange wrapping so people will still be able to tell the difference.

The newly shaped Purple Ones will only feature in The Purple One chocolate bags and the new orange crunch shape will be in Quality Street tubs. Both of these will only be available for a limited time, so you'll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on them.

You'll need to keep an eye out for the tubs including the new Orange Crunch shapes because not all tubs will include them. If you're worried about these chocolates replacing the Caramel Crunch, don't worry, as this won't be the case. Better yet, the price of tubs featuring the newly shaped sweets will remain the same.

Jemma Handley, senior brand manager for Quality Street, said: "We are trialling a different shape for two of our sweets this Christmas season. We know how iconic Quality Street sweets are and we have made sure that it is the same great-tasting Purple One and Orange Crunch that people know and love inside their iconic coloured wrappers."

This isn't the first time that Quality Street has made changes to its chocolates recently, as Nestle previously revealed it's bringing back a fan favourite flavour after it disappeared from the selection box two decades ago. So which sweet has made the cut for its big return? None other than coffee creme. Better yet, the sweet treat will be available inside Quality Street's festive cracker and advent calendar this year.
