Reese Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe opens up about anxiety struggles

Reese Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe has opened up about her struggles with mental health during an Instagram Q&A.

The daughter of the Hollywood actress candidly spoke about her struggles with anxiety, which she claims to have faced as a child and later on in her life, as a teenager. The 24-year-old told her followers that she had struggled with the mental health condition "for as long as I can remember."

"I’ve dealt with anxiety for as long as I can remember, and it was especially intense for me as a kid & teenager," Ava said before sharing tips for her fans who may be struggling with the same thing. Although she did note that “there is no one solution that works for everyone.”

"Don’t invalidate your feelings. You have every right to feel however you do, even if it seems weird to others, & being hard on yourself won’t help you feel better or find a solution," she added before sharing that taking deep breaths and taking in her surroundings has helped her.

“Note 1-3 things you can smell, touch, hear, etc… in the moment & remember: this feeling will pass, even if you have to ride it out for awhile,” she advised.

Ava's candid revelation comes after fans were shocked by how much she looks like her Legally Blonde star mother. In a swimsuit snap posted back in July, Ava wrote the caption: "Soaking up the second half of Summer with Aerie," alongside a stunning photograph of the beaming blonde bombshell lounging on the edge of a swimming pool.

Fans were quick to swoon over the snap, with one person writing: "Had to do a double take thinking this was Reese." While a second said: "You cannot deny you and your mum are twins."

Reese met Ava's dad when she was 21, with the couple getting engaged in 1998 before marrying in June 1999. They welcomed their first child Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, on September 9, 1999, and their son Deacon Reese Phillippe, who was born on October 23, 2003.
