Former Love Island star and winner has revealed he is happily loved up as he takes on his 'biggest challenge' yet.

Greg O'Shea, who won Love Island 2019 alongside Amber Gill, is also an Olympic medallist for his part in the Irish rugby sevens. Yet the Limerick born star is now set to take on a new sporting challenge as he takes on on the Ironman Barcelona involving a 3.8km sea swim, an 180km bike ride, and a 42km run.

The star has been supported and championed from the sidelines by his South African model girlfriend, who he has been dating since earlier this year. The stunning model has already shared some words of support for the Love Island star ahead of his next challenge.

New girlfriend Jeanni Mulder shared some encouraging words as she shared a snap of the pair on her Instagram Stories. She wrote: "Tomorrow is one of your biggest challenges yet and I've been lucky enough to see the hard work you have put in and it's safe to say I have never believed in someone the way I believe in you. In awe of your hard work and dedication. LET'S GO BABY".

Writing on his own Instagram account Greg shared his nerves ahead of the huge sporting event as he wrote: "My next challenge is my toughest yet. I’ve been hesitant to speak about this challenge publicly and I even thought about just not mentioning it at all, but then I realised that’s kinda being a coward. It’s only fair that I share the stuff that I’m not too confident about as well.

"I remember meeting one of the best Ironman athletes in the world (Joe Skipper) and telling him I’d love to try an Ironman but I’m not sure if I can do it. Joe just said to me ‘of course you can, just put in the training and give it a shot’. So tomorrow I’m doing my first ever triathlon and of course it’s the full Ironman distance, and I’m just gonna give it my best shot! Let’s go!"

The star has been flooded with support from fans wishing him well before he puts himself through the gruelling athletic feat. Girlfriend Jeanni led the support in the comments as she wrote: INCREDIBLY PROUD & INSPIRED BY YOU, see you at the finish line”.

Speaking last year, Greg admitted he had regrets over the way he ended things with Love Island ex Amber Gill. The pair won and split a £50,000 prize after being voted the winning couple of the ITV2 show in 2019 but called time on their romance just five weeks on from their TV victory.

"I’d love to say ‘no regrets’ but there probably is one. I should have bit my tongue a bit longer and stayed in the relationship with Amber a bit longer," Greg admitted when recalling his Love Island experience on Doireann Garrihy’s The Laughs Of Your Life podcast last year.

He continued: "I was just way too honest and way too focused about going to the Olympics at the time, which worked because I did go in hindsight. But when she posed the question to me being like, ‘you’re obviously gonna ask me to be your girlfriend, are you?’ I was like, ‘but sure how is this gonna work? I’m trying to train to go to the Olympics, you’re in the UK, you’re the ‘it’ girl, everyone wants a bit of you.'

"I was like ‘this isn’t going to work.' I was just way too honest, too early... stupid Greg just decided to answer honestly over FaceTime and that’s when the whole ‘Greg breaks up with Amber over text’ thing comes out. Over in the UK I’m just branded as like, ‘Oh you’re Greg the guy that broke up with Amber over text.'”
